Removing Layshaft Play

If your slipper slips regardless of how tight you have it set, you may need to add some 5x7mm shims to the layshaft assembly.
Check for play in the layshaft assembly by trying to pull/push the layshaft.
If you do experience play over 0.1mm, remove the motorplate
Remove the motor plate adapter and add just enough shims to remove the play. Too many or too thick shims will cause binding when the motor plate is reinstalled.
Replace the motor plate adapter and motor plate. Check that the play is gone. If the layshaft feels tight to spin, you may need to remove or use thinner shims.
